• May 15, 1989   NY Times  Cuomo Outlines Plan to Aid Kin Of Slain Police  At a news conference in his office at the World Trade Center, the Governor said he hoped the program would help mitigate the families’ suffering. He said the plan was inspired by a recent meeting he had with the three widows, Mary Beth Ruotolo, Susan McCormack and Kathleen Murray.

She hadn’t watched television since August, when her husband, Police Officer Joe Galapo, was accidentally shot to death by his partner during an undercover buy-and-bust drug operation in Brooklyn.
